In this series, I am exploring man-made infrastructure that shapes our public spaces. My focus is on areas created and influenced by humans, where functionality and aesthetics intersect and adapt to evolving living standards. These spaces often contain many historical layers and numerous literal layers within walls, ceilings, and beneath floors—wires, pipes, insulation, fixtures—sometimes compressed into visually absurd yet captivating arrangements. Despite such unintentional errors and seemingly incompatible architectural solutions, these spaces possess a certain internal logic and reveal our humanity through their flaws. In urban landscapes, we are intertwined with an unseen network of wires, pipes, and lines. Our reliance on these essentials only becomes apparent when they are disrupted, be it by a power outage or water shortage.
